Pre-Operative Instructions

It may be important to stop taking 325mg aspirin 7-10 days prior to your surgery. If you are taking Coumadin, Plavix, or another blood thinner, please follow the pre-operative instructions given to you by your physician. Patients with diabetes often need to modify their medications, be sure you consult with our office. Please take any prescribed medications as directed before your surgery.
In order to evaluate your progress and healing, we will see you multiple times for post-operative checks during the first few weeks. Following completion of therapy we will also look forward to seeing you back for a cleaning and an examination about 10-12 weeks following the surgery.
Post-Operative Instructions
These instructions apply to most surgical procedures. They are designed to help you minimize discomfort and inform you of situations that may require special attention.
It is not unusual to have some discomfort following your surgical procedure. You will be given prescriptions for medications to reduce or eliminate any discomfort. Please take all medications as directed.
Swelling may occur following your surgical procedure and will typically increase 2-3 days after the procedure. Additionally, a small amount of bleeding is normal during the fist 24-48 hours. Please follow the instructions provided for post-treatment care. If you have any concerns please contact the office at 214-691-2404.
